Wii Fit: The End of an Era

The first web short that I’ve produced in a long time focuses on the travesty that is Wii Fit and the Nintendo Wii in general.
We actually shot this last summer, but seeing how Wii Fit has dominated the Top Ten charts for over a year now, I think it’s still pertinent. Damn you Nintendo!
Attention Nintendo Fanboys: Don’t get your panties in a bunch. I’m as big a Nintendo fan as they come; I’m just saying what we’re all thinking!
Yup, I’ve been busy. Adjusting to life in LA, family, and work have been taking up most of my time.
While this website may be a bit neglected lately, I certainly haven’t forgotten about it. I’ve been terrible about responding to messages and emails for the past couple months as well – so if you haven’t received a response from me, please feel free to resend your correspondence.
With any luck, I’ll be cranking out some new videos within the next few weeks and we’ll be back in business!
The only thing better than shooting a new episode of The New Adventures of Ben & Jared is getting paid to do it! The comedy site Just For Laughs .com purchased a revamped pilot episode of Ben & Jared to get fresh look at the series in the “webisode” format. If all goes well, this will be the first of many.
This new episode should be considered a reboot for the show, even though the previous episode probably still fits into the continuity of the series. Right now the new pilot is up exclusively on the Just For Laughs site, although I’m sure it will make its way to YouTube in the near future. Go check out the pilot, and if you like it then show us some love and leave a comment!

If Just For Laughs uploads the pilot to their YouTube channel, or allows me to upload it to mine, I’ll post a quick update here. For those of you who might have missed it, the old episode (the OLD Adventures of Ben & Jared?), it can be found on my YouTube channel.
The first time that you come across a package of Chocolate Mix Skittles, you may find yourself morbidly curious as to what they actually taste like. This short commercial spoof sums up my initial reaction to trying them.

It has been far too long since my last video was posted… but with Jared coming to town for a marathon shooting session, we hope to remedy that problem next week!
The big news is that I’m planning to move down to Los Angeles within the next month or so (I currently live in Spokane, Washington). I’ve realized that pretty much everything I want to pursue career-wise is all centered in LA, and that it’s finally time for me to make the dive. I made about a million day trips down there last year, and I’m pretty confident that I’ll enjoy it.
Anyway, check back soon for some new videos! We’ll soon be serving up fresh episodes of The New Adventures of Ben and Jared, and even more nerdy video game related goodness for all of you who enjoyed The Justin Bailey Conspiracy.
I am switching over to a new web hosts in the coming days, so the site may go down for a bit while the change takes place. If the forums get messed up again during this switch, have no fear: I’ll be able to use my newfound 1337 php skillz to fix things up in no time!
Also, if everything goes according to plan, I should be releasing a couple new shorts by the end of next week! Graned, things with me rarely “go according to plan”, so we’ll see…
You know what sucks? Having to design your own website… especially if you’re not all that good at it!
I’ve updated the look of the site, made it easier to browse through the videos, changed a bit of the layout etc. Love it or hate it, this new design is here to stay for awhile.
Apart from all of that, I’m considering keeping up this trend of actually releasing new content on a regular basis by having a couple more videos out by the end of the month. Jared even quit his job to maximize our new video output. Get excited!
Looks like the video I posted this morning has been featured at gametrailers.com and slashdot.org… thanks to the respective editors at those sites for choosing it!
To many of you Game Trailer commenters: Jared’s eyes are the best thing that ever happened to the internet. What you don’t see in the video is me out of frame coaching him to look crazier!
Anyway, we had a lot of fun making this. Also, any gaming fans who have never been to this site before will probably get a kick out of another video games related project I’m working on…
